To me Cinderella was not a story about how a young girl who lost both of her parents was able to overcome her life circumstances to become a princess, Cinderella was a story about how a shoe transformed her life. I started thinking, if Cinderella was a sneakerhead what would she wear? In the original 1950 version, she had 5 wardrobe changes. I will address 4 of the 5 outfits (I’m not counting the nightgown) As far as her footwear, she wore black flats, red heels, and the infamous glass slipper (heel). First, let’s review Cinderella’s day-to-day activities. She does a lot of walking and cleaning. She spends a significant amount of time with animals. She also likes to dance and sing. That being said, she needs to be fashionable as well as comfortable. Here is my take on what she would have in her closet.
Of course Cinderella would have a Glass sneaker! Nike Dunks Holy Grails (Comfortable and Versatile, Cinderella could wear these with her wedding dress, her ball gown or day-to-day activities) Nike Air Force 1 Low Upstep: Glass Slipper (Flashy, Stylish, and would go with her ball gown)Nike Air Force 1 Mid UpStep: Glass Slipper (A pink and green sequin sneaker – can you go wrong? Also would look good with her wedding dress)Nike Dunks Hi LX (Would match her maid outfit, comfortable and good for dancing)Jordan 1 Triple Black (Every female needs a black shoe – and these are just plain pretty)Nike Air Max React 270: Electronic Music (Cinderella wore red shoes with her pink and white dress. The React combines pink and red. This shoe would look super fly with the dress.)Nike Huarache (Cinderella could replace the React 270 from the previous picture with these to wear with her pink dress- either sneaker is a win)Van slip-on (Cinderella every day/around the house shoe)Adidas Superstars (It’s a classic)Reebok Princess (A Princess needs a Princess shoe)
Thank you for reading my thoughts, I would love to hear what you think. Please leave comments 🙂
Hey there! I’m Coren—a certified Sneakerhead. When it comes to footwear, I don’t play around. I’m very particular about what goes on my feet. My favorite hobby? Hunting down the perfect pair of kicks. Here’s how I see the world—one shoe at a time.
